Through the invited speakers, the steady debates, the organized symposiums, our objective is to accompany and to enlighten the contemporary debates to enrich the dialogue between our two countries.'

Le Consulat Général de France á Boston is located at 31 Saint James Avenue in Boston.

I know that many of you might have thought that I'd go in a vastly different direction than I took it. But one of the biggest things that is talked about on the website of the French Consulate is, as you see up there, is the cultural exchange between France and New England, especially between the universities and museums. I hope you're not too disappointed. :D

France is, along with the Irish, one of the largest ethnic groups in New England, which is why New England is fluent in French. The total French and French Canadian population in New England is about 2.2 million, or about 15% of the population. But unlike the Irish, the French are not as evenly distributed across New England. The French are more concentrated in the North, with New Hampshire having not only the largest percentage of French people in New England, but in the entire country, at about 25%. Connecticut has the lowest, with just under 10%. All combined, New England has a much higher French population than Louisiana, which is the state known for its French ties. If Louisiana were to have the same amount of ethnic French as New England, over half of Louisiana's population would be French, rather than the 16% that it has now.

Woonsocket, Rhode Island has a French Quarter. During the Industrial Revolution, many people from Quebec moved there seeking work in the mills.
